Virtual Business

virtual businessSo, you want to be virtual, huh!? Awesome… Welcome to the club! Here’s the thing… As business owners, entrepreneurs – whatever we end up calling ourselves – virtual business means that in this day and age, we do not have to be stuck behind a desk everyday to get things done. We used to – but, not anymore.

Surfing around this site you will come across a lot of different posts – some written, some in audio format and some in video – on a number of different subjects. However, unless I am going completely off target, or just plain senile (which I try not to – on both accounts!), all of the content on this blog should fit into four main ‘rules’. All of which lead to creating a lifestyle that enables more travel, less time handcuffed to a desk, more time with family and a larger bank balance – I’m talking about the Virtual Business Lifestyle.

Those ‘rules’ are as follows:

Virtual Business Lifestyle Rule #1 – Becoming Super-Mobile

And I’m not talking about being able to work from Starbucks once in a while, or sitting in your car on the way back to the office from yet another appointment!!! I’m talking about full-on mobility. Being able to literally stick your laptop in a bag and move your office, to anywhere in the world, whenever you have the urge to do so – and in a way that doesn’t require you to answer to ‘the man’…!

Virtual Business Lifestyle Rule #2 – Embrace Outsourcing

As someone who is surrounded by the concept of outsourcing everyday, I know how unbelievably powerful it is for the small to medium-sized business owner or entrepreneur, when it comes to not only saving money, but also growing their business. This covers everything from a single Virtual Assistant to a full-blown inbound customer service team or outbound telemarketing campaign.

Virtual Business Lifestyle Rule #3 – Be a TRUE Entrepreneur

The dictionary says that the meaning of the word ‘entrepreneur’ is someone that manages an enterprise or business with great initiative and risk. But, the bottom line is that entrepreneurs are a lot more than smart people that aren’t scared to take some risks in the business lives. We are thought leaders, the catalysts to our own virtual business planning, and so must have the entrepreneurial mindset in abundance.

Virtual Business Lifestyle Rule #4 – Create Passive Income

This is something that is huge right now, and although it is not totally necessary when it comes to creating a VBL (you might be totally happy running your existing company from a distance), it is a lot of fun to get involved with, and lets face it – we could all do with a little extra income from time to time, right? Even if it’s just to pay for those, now frequent, trips abroad!

So, Chris, What DO I Do Next…?

Firstly, if you haven’t signed up to the blogs feed do it now (you can do so via email or RSS). Secondly, sign-up for my free eBook on working with Virtual Assistants by using the sign-up box at the top-right of the site (yes, you do have to give your email address, but I promise no spam! Really!).Then head over to Facebook and join the VBL Facebook Page to interact with other entrepreneurs and like-minded people.

When you’re done doing those three things get really stuck in surfing around the site and devouring the content that I, and a few select guest posters, have put together for you.

And last, but by no mean least – if you have any questions that you can’t find answered on the blog in relation to virtual business and the lifestyle is can bring, simply email me by using the form on the contact page – I’d be happy to get back to you with answers to anything you might need help on. Please be patient though, as I do get quite a bit of email each day!

See you on the beach – or any other place you’d rather be, than behind that desk!
