VBL011 – Getting Started in Video Blogging, with Tyrone Shum!

Part of the Virtual Business Lifestyle revolves around entrepreneurship and passive income streams. Video blogging is hot stuff right now – it seems that almost every blogger online today is at least flirting with it in some way. There are several that are utilizing it exclusively, like today’s special guest and good friend, Tyrone Shum. You’ve no doubt already heard my interview with Tyrone in a recent Podcast. However, as he is one of the best video bloggers I personally know, I wanted to get him back for a more in-depth look at this specific topic.

Utilizing video online cannot be discounted any longer. And in this video / podcast you’ll hear Tyrone discuss, amongst other things:

  • How simple and easy it is to get started with video blogging.
  • The tools of the trade he uses to record his videos (so easy!).
  • The massive impact video blogging has had on his own passive income.
  • How he utilizes online services to blitz the search engines and get found on YouTube.
  • Much more cool stuff…!

As a blogger utilizing video myself, pretty much from the first ever post here on the blog, I have to say (like I do in the video), I’m much more of a talker than a typer, and this medium is certainly one that I will be sticking with (if not concentrating on!) in the future for this blog and any others that I might start off.

Let’s us know about your experiences with video online, good and bad, what you think of it as a blogging concept and lets see if we can get a few additional tips together for everyone to enjoy – comment below.

    Hi Chris,

I’ve been following Tyrone for some time now (I believe I was one of his first customers when he launched his outsourcing membership program) and he definitely has valuable tips to share.

As for video blogging I must say that it is not something I like unless it is meant to teach me something visually.

I am much more of a Podcast fan and even though I can take videos and create an audio of them, they’re just not as good as when they’re true podcasts. Video bloggers talk differently because they assume that people can see what they’re talking about.

Normally I don’t have time to watch videos but enjoy podcasts because I can listen to them when working out/driving etc.

    Just my 2 cents.

    • Hi Mikael

Yes, Tyrone’s Mass Outsource is a great program. In fact, we are putting together a bit of a VBL Special for the program and hope to launch it to the subscribers soon.

I love your feedback on video / podcasts. Thank you. Its a very personal choice, and I have a 50/50 split from everyone, hence the fact that I do a bit of both here on the blog. Although, in the future, I think I’ll be doing a dual video/audio post regularly.

Driving and listening to podcasts is actually a fave of mine, too!

Thanks for the comment, highly appreciated.

      Chris
