I Want YOU to Write for this Blog! It’s the VBL ‘Guest Post’ Month!

Guest Post Month at Virtual Business Lifestyle

In October I will be traveling quite a bit, and I thought it would be fun to basically not have to think about the blog all that much for this month and focus on the traveling, the meetings, the expo I’m checking out (BlogWorld in Vegas) and hanging out with clients and friends, instead.

So, I formerly announce October 2010 as ‘Guest Post’ Month, here at the Virtual Business Lifestyle.

I get requests all the time from other bloggers to write for this blog, but to be honest, I rarely accept them as I usually either a) don’t like the ideas, or b) have something similar in the works myself – this is 80% of the reason I reject ideas. However, for October, I am going to keep a completely open mind and would love to hear from any of you that might fancy producing a post to go live when I am out and about, on ‘the road’.

5 Simple ‘Rules’ to Follow!

  • Your post can be written, a video or in audio format (it will also be included on our iTunes Podcast, if this is the medium you choose).
  • Written posts must be a minimum of 500 words, videos a minimum of 3mins and audio posts a minimum of 10mins.
  • The post must have something to do with the core concepts of the VBL – in other words – entrepreneurship, outsourcing, mobility and passive income.
  • The post can go in any direction, such as a ‘how to’ format, a story, tips and tactics, experiences, etc.
  • The post MUST be 100% original work. Plain and simple.

I intend to have two posts go live every week in October, so a total of 8 posts are required. If you’d like to submit your post idea (or even the completed work!) please email me directly through chris [at] virtualbusinesslifestyle [dot] com .

Deadline for submissions is September 21st, 2010.

This is really exciting for me, as I love reading all the comments, tweets and feedback I get from you all on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as it is! The opportunity to have some of you awesome subscribers actually do a full-blown post for the blog is a great thrill for me.

So, get to it, think up some great ideas and I look forward to seeing your posts online in October – as well as your comments below, as always, too!

PS. Spread the love, bigtime, on this one, okay! Go on – hit ‘Retweet’ or ‘Share’ below, NOW!

    Great idea.

  2. Tyrone Shum says:

Excellent idea mate! I’ve got a few video posts I can send to you about outsourcing. Pick anyone you like and let me know?

    Thanks.

  3. Hi Chris,
That’s a fantastic idea and I’d love to help out.

Can I send you some ideas in an email?

    Best regards,

    Adrian

    Hi Chris:

I know outsourcing is very hot and in and you have a well developed business. So blog posts, for you are easy to get, if you need the posts. This must be another promotional strategy.

So, keep up the good work. I like reading about you, as a outsourcing success.

Make it a great day for yourself
    Fran Aslam

    • Hi Fran

Yes, I can indeed put as many posts together as I wish – not just on outsourcing, either. There are other areas involved in creating what I call the Virtual Business Lifestyle.

I’m doing this, more than anything else, as a way to be able to bring some fresh attitudes and personalities to the blog within a month where I am going to be pretty busy traveling around. We have such a great community building here, that I’m sure the excellent readers, viewers and listeners of all things VBL are more than capable of putting together some great content, too!

Thanks for the post, and let me know if you’d like to include something, too!

      All the best,
      Chris

  5. Valerio Paolini says:

Hi Chris, I have some nice tips for you concerning some virtual office magic tricks. If this sounds interesting to you let me know.
Till then wish you all the best..keep rocking!
    Valerio

    • Hi Valerio

If you feel the tips would make a cool article / video, then please go ahead and get them to me…

I think a video post from a VBL reader in Rome would be an excellent idea!!!

Look forward to hearing back from you.

      Thanks, buddy.

      Chris

  6. Steve says:

I would love to send you an idea for a guest post. I will kick it around for a few days and send you an email.

    Great idea!

  7. Hi Chris,

Your October plans sound wonderful. I’d love to write a post for you. I’m going to spend a little time coming up with some ideas that might allow our niche subjects to intersect, and drop you an email with a few proposals.

    Okay for you?

  8. El Edwards says:

Oooh, now you’ve gone and done it. I have nothing in my brain for you right now but I’ve given it its orders as I’d love to get involved. ;)

I might tell it to hang fire though. You seem to have lots of lovely offers already.

And you’re going to Blog World?! Very cool. I wish we could persuade all these wonderful US bloggers to come and hang out in the UK one year.

    • Hi El

Yes, I’m looking forward to BW, should be good…

On the subject of you writing something for October – go for it. I’d love to see what you can put together.

      Thanks in advance!

      Chris

  9. Juha Liikala says:

Alright Chris! Well, this is something I’ll definitely want to be a part of. I’ll write a few post ideas down and send them your way to judge.. ;) Btw, did you get a Twitter DM I sent you few days ago about the Virtual Staff Finder?

    • Hi Juha

Nice, will be great to see what you put together, my man – your passion alone should get you included in the 8 posts..!!!

I might have skipped the Twitter DM, to be honest I am starting to get a hell of a lot more than I used to, so don’t get around to checking them all regularly, like before. Best to just @chriscducker reply to me, and I see them easier.

Look forward to hearing from you, buddy.

      Chris

  10. Darren Hoehne says:

Hey Chris, I would love to do a video blog. I feel that the reason people don’t move forward in life is due to their mindset. I would love to show people how to re-wire their thinking and change their psychology so they can move towards their goals at lightening like speed.

    Keep up the great work!

    • Hi Darren

Sounds like a great idea. Just as long as some of those goals include some of the concepts of the VBL, rock n roll…!

I look forward to hearing from you when you’ve shot the video…

      Best,
      Chris

  11. Jonny Gibaud says:

    How about:

“Three different ways to run a company from 3 different countries”

  12. Eva Davies says:

Hi Chris – love to write some insights for you from the UK and why we are a bit slow in embracing the wonderful world of outsourcing. As I PM’d you before I am about to launch an Outsource Advice site to help folks move along. The research I have been doing has been fascinating.

I will send you the posts and hope you have a brilliant time when you are away.

All the best from overcast North London

    Eva

    • Hi Eva

      Yes, I remember…

Ah…. Overcast London – how I miss you. NOT!

Sounds great. Send some stuff over – I look forward to hearing from you. And keep me up-to-date on the launch of the site, too!

      All the best,
      Chris

  13. Ta Daaa! Chris thanks so much for considering my post – I looking forward to seeing what you have in store for October!

    Michelle.

    • Hi Michelle

A lady of her word…! Nice.

Actually, your reply email gave me a GREAT idea for a post – I’ll reply to you separately on it.

October is gonna be a blast – so, SO many great submissions have come in. ALL awesome..!!! Perhaps I should be lazy in November, too…!???!!

Hope to see you here more often, now.

      Chris
