Today we have a Guest Post by Greg over at music marketing blog GenYRockstars, who also runs www.rockstarlifestyledesign.com, too! Check out his sites if you are an entrepreneur or a musician – if you’re both, you’ll be spoiled rotten, trust me!
Myself and Greg were literally hours away from hooking up on my trip to the US in February, planning to do some video posts together on growing businesses and general entrepreneur stuff – but, alas, it didn’t quite happen! Next time for sure. Since then I’ve been interviewed by him for his blog, and I asked him to do this post to offer you guys the usual, great insightful stuff that he puts together.
What I really enjoy in watching this clip is the laid-back, but highly encourage attitude of Greg and the vision that he puts out in this video. Especially like his comment of ‘do stuff that you really enjoy…’.
The thing is that it doesn’t take a long time for you to realize that what he is talking about is absolutely do-able, and that the ‘mental’ part of the approach to lifestyle design is more important than anything else (well, at least I think so, anyway!).
Enjoy the post, and please do leave comments for Greg below – he’d love to hear from you, as I always do, too!
If you liked this post don’t forget to sign-up for my RSS feed, and grab a copy of my free eBook at the top-right of the site! And don’t forget to comment below! You can also “Be Sweet & Retweet!” if you like, too. Thanks, everyone!

What am I going to do this week? I’m opening a business checking account to go with my freshly minted LLC. It’s not that difficult, I’ve just been putting it off because I hate dealing with infrastructure tasks.
Isaac – Awesome stuff, buddy!
Putting things off is also a normal trait of the entrepreneur. Greg hits the spot in this clip. Excellent advice.
Thanks for commenting.
Chris
Greg, thanks for sharing your inspiration! You are absolutely right – nothing will ever happen until you start taking action here and now.
I found the Virtual Business Lifestyle blog by way of Dan Andrew’s http://outsourcetothephilippines.com. Love what you’re doing and hope to emulate you within the next couple years. I married a Filipina 10 years ago. I’ve been to Philippines six times over the years, and enjoyed it every time.
What am I going to do this week? Update my LinkedIn profile http://www.linkedin.com/in/mikestankavich and apply for full time telecommute jobs in hopes of being able to work from the Philippines in the future. I’m planning to build a bridge to owning my own business in the future while not putting my family at risk. Part one is done, and I’ll get part two done by the end of the week.
Mike
Thanks for commenting…
Excellent goal you’ve given yourself this week, too. Linkedin is a GREAT networking tool for professionals.
Join the VBL Group when you’re at it too! Link at the top of the site.
I look forward to a cold beer with you, when you eventually make it out to the Philippines!
Regards,
Chris
Chris,
Thanks for the warm welcome. Not sure when I’ll make it to Cebu – my wife’s family is from near Vigan, Ilocos Sur (Northern Luzon) so we usually head north rather than south from Manila. But I might just have to make a special trip for beer
Joined the VBL group, looking forward to hanging out with you there.
Excellent stuff, Mike.
Perhaps you can email me your friends details (via the contact page here) and I can give him a call. It seems like a quick chat wont hurt, thats for sure.
Thanks for the heads-up, and the additional comment.
Thanks for dropping by, and clarifying things, Greg.
All the best, chat soon.
Chris
@Mike – updating LinkIn is a great way to start solidifying your brand and getting people to hone in on the awesome things you can do to add value to someone or some organization. Great work man!
Reminds me!
I will get my PA to work on this one, too!
Thanks, Mike!!!
Hey Isaac – that’s a great thing to do man. I actually just upgraded from a DBA to an LLC this week as well and its really a cool thing to check off the list!
Hey Greg
Thanks again for a great post, bud. Looks like people are digging it.
I was due to post tomorrow – but, I’ve put it off til the beginning of next week, so your video can have a little more ‘above the fold’ time.
Chat soon, bud.
Chris
Thought I’d join in here, too.
I’m actually going to be re-working the content on my company’s website this week.
I’m about 60% done with it so far. So, bang on target. The bulk of it will be done on Friday, from home (I dont go into the office on Fridays anymore!), so I have a little ‘quiet time’ on the weekend with the kids.
@Chris – thanks again for letting me share some time with your readers! As for your big thing of the week, its a BIG thing. Re working copy and content is no joke, but I know you will blow it out of the water. Looking forward to seeing you reach your goal this year!
You’re more than welcome, bud. We’ll do another one soon, I hope.
Yep – the content is a tough one, but needed – especially as I get a lot of Indian ‘competitors’ (and I use the term VERY lightly) copying it all the time!
I even had someone steal my corporate video this week and re-cut it into something for themselves. I must say – YouTube were very good at removing the copyrighted material…!
Chat soon, man.
Chris
I am going to make a commitment to get behind the camera and start interviewing entrepreneurs who offer services to other entrepreneurs as a means to create content around my blog and services. Its been difficult to come to this point but it something I realize now that I must do
Hi Owen
Thanks for the comment. Doing ANYTHING for the first time is tough for a number of reasons. Comfort zone. Finding time – you name it.
The most important thing is that you try it. If you dont, you will never know ‘what might have been’.
Hope to see you here more often, now that you’ve intro’d yourself to us all…!
Regards,
Chris
