Hi Tom

Excellent comment, my man. Thank you.

I recently started using Dropbox myself and must say I am impressed with it. Great little resource.

I'm curious on how you set things up to do a complete clone of your notebook. Is there a piece of software you use? What system are you on, Mac or PC? I'd be interested to see how to do this properly, and more importantly - quickly and easily, too!

Thanks again for dropping by. Look forward to your reply - and more comments from you.

All the best,
Chris

Hi Chris

A usefull video and list can i add some more ideas.

I have an external hard disk drive thats got a complete clone of my notebook on it which i auto update every time i add new apps. that way if the notebook breaks when the enginers fix it i can restore an image of my hard disk drive.

I also have my data backed up to the web service Drop box. with the 2gb they give me i have all my docs and wordpress setups plus more :-) and its free. You could sync whilst in the office for example. Once on dropbox any document can be read from any web browser incluing on my iphone ! thats ways neat. And if the norebook goes down any internet enabled PC and you can get to yur data.

Last one for today is Google. There service is so reliable. I use an google email account just to store data. by attaching files to an email and emailing to my baackup account i have a safe copy at all times. Also i send my monthly wordpress database and them backups to this account. 7GB of storage for free.

regards

Hi Florian

All I am doing here is showing people exactly what I take with me on my trips, and how these things help me to 'remain in the office' when I'm not actually there.

Out of my senses...??? Why? If this helps people become more mobile and productive when they travel, then that is awesome!

Thanks for commenting, bud.

Hi Chris,
thanks a lot for that video. Some guys will maybe think that you are out of your senses showing this. But I think it's really important for guys (like me) for getting to know how an outsourcing lifestyle really work in practice.

@Justin - Thanks for the comment... Yeah, the prices in Thailand are always 'right'. I cant remember the name of the store to be frank, but it was in the IT Mall near the Platinum Mall - it was insane... Over 1000 stores under one roof. Crazy! You can get them all over Asia though, so you shouldn't have problems finding one!

@Wilson - Yep, call immigration, the bald Brit is coming into town! Actually, in all seriousness, I'm really looking forward to this trip - lots of great stuff planned, and sitting down with a couple of really cool clients to talk about plans for the rest of the year and beyond. So, should be very fruitful.

@Ray - Travel Insurance is a given on all trips, and will cover you for loses, of course. However, I also make sure that my PA has a back-up of any important files on her BlackBerry. This way, even if she is out of the office, she can get whatever I need, to me, without any delay. I also use several online tools, too, like Google Docs, and Google Cal, that allow you to store a lot of important stuff online, so you can access it anywhere in the world - as long as you can get to an internet connection - which generally isnt too tough nowadays. Thanks for commenting, bud.

Nice travel pack for the upwardly mobile. Just a question though.. What if traveling and (God forbid) you lose, get stolen or damage any of your equipment that you need to stay connected? Is getting insurance on your Virtual Lifestyle's equipment a good idea?
